The famous site of Pamukkale (cotton Castle) is adjacent to the much less popular site of Hierapolis.
The picture symbolizes the boundary between the necropolis of Hierapolis and Pamukkale site in the form of a tomb encrusted in calcium carbonate deposated by thermal waters.
The city dates from the 2nd century BC and was founded by the king of Pergame Eumenes II.

We were fascinated with Pamukkale when we visited many years ago.
The addition of the pink flowers add to the pleasing picture.

hello, what a scenic beauty of this place. Great composition in panorama. Like the light management and colour contrast. The hut in middle is a nice focal point here. Interesting presentation. Tfs.

you've met the technical challenges in a very effective way and created a wonderful, simple composition that delights the viewer with its balance and offers a fascinating description of the scerery. I like very much how you've combined the luminous foreground and the lonely building with the vast colourful panorama in the background. Very fine work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,

I like very much how balanced and elegant this composition looks as you have employed the elements that define the scenery, the colours and the perspectives in an excellent way. We get a great idea of this nice place and of its natural surroundings, depth and clarity are superb. Apart from that, even beyond the physical description, the picture is a delight to look at for its beautiful light and bright contrasting colours. The house is an excellent focal point.
Thanks for your constructive comments to my "Airplane" photo. In this case I was a bit playing with Photoshop. The original is slightly different (may be better).

Cette maison encrusté dans le calcaire avec les quelque brusaille autour, ça donne un effet plutôt surréel et le sépare bien de la campagne autour comme ça devrais étre pour un lieu des dieux.
Très bonne composition.

wow, lots of history here for sure!
Hard to imagine even going back that far.
Makes me wonder how this landscape looked back then, perhaps not much different?
love the depth with the farmland in the bg, and the contrasting white in the fg.
excellent subject to share with us

I shouldn't do this... I shouldn't show favoritism to a photo from my homeland! But what can I do? When the photo is so striking, I cannot ignore it, either. You have caught a very unique corner of Pamukkale. Those pink Azaleas on the white deposits look so pretty. The sarcophagus rising out of the travertines attests to the ravages of time. The green Menderes Valley in the background balances the white of the foreground. Well seen and exquisitely rendered!

Looking very much like snow, but I know in July that's impossible. It was around 35c when I visited just recently, in July 2013. The travertine calcite deposits at Pammukale / Hieropolis are amazing. I loaded a shot recently to TE but have several more I may upload later. The oleander tree with the pink flowers is symbolic of the Mediterranean region. A marvellous view of the new city below the mountain with good sharpness. Tfs!
