This is the twelveth and last entry of my recent series I've titled with "Aphrodisias in autumn" .
I started this series with a capture of the famous theater of Aphrodisias and let's end it with another capture of the theater.
Here you can see the theater of Aphrodisias in early morning hours.
Aphrodisians were great thinkers and planners. Allthough the city had a population of maximum 10-12.000 citizens, they planned this theater for 8.000 visitors and the stadium for 25.000 visitors !

This really is an excellent shot, challenging anything that might be found in a catalogue.
It has a glorious sense of depth, fine textural details, rich colours and, most importantly, it places the amphitheatre attractively in situ. Who wouldn't want to visit this fine historic place!
Have a great Sunday,

A great presentation of this well-conserved amphitheatre.
The light is warm and low, allowing to appreciate the texture and relief throughout the scene. I like the angle you have opted for, showing the extension of this extraordinary site, but also its natural setting.

Great shot of this impressive theatre. Its hard to imagine organising for 25,000 people in our digital age, how did they cope 2,000 years ago. A great place and enjoyable series.

Your series has been most enjoyable, both for the amazing captures and also for the knowledge that you shared with us. I have a new place in my mind now that I wish to someday see, and one that I would never have known were it not for your sharing, so thank you again.
In this image, the sense of height is almost dizzying, you chose a great POV again to stand so close to the lip of the theatre and let us view right down to the stage. The Autumn colors are of course incredible and again the light from the right is magical.
Beautiful, and thanks again.

Hello Mesut - Another very attractive shot of Aphrodisias. Again the shot is atmospheric with the light and good saturation showing the place off to great advantage. Super. Warm regards Rosemary

Here the theater of Aphrodisias looks very impressive. You surely captured it from the best angle.
The many cypresses give this site a beautiful park view.
The mountains and clouds make a great background.
Best regards, Paul

I have enjoyed this short series of images from Aphrodisias. Ephesus without the crowds? Well composed square format with good adherence to the rule of thirds. Nice sharpness and warm cold color contrasts between the yellow blades of grass and the blue sky. The high pov across the amphitheatre works well here. Tfs!

Hello dear Mesut,
a magnificent picture to close your lovely and rewarding series on Aphrodisias. A superb point of view that allows us to see, comprehend and relate to both the marvellous architecture and the beautiful autumanl scenery. In this photo we can see a lot of details, depth, perspective and clarity are excellent. I absolutely love the textures, the colours, the light, the shadows and the dynamism of the clouds. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,

What we consider ancient architects and architectures are actually more advanced than we give them credit for. This theatre shows more understanding about sounds. Nicely captured with good details. Well done, tfs.

very impressive photo. I like your composition with the stones of the theater in the foreground and the whole theater opening below. Further in the distance we see a beautiful view of the mountains with a subtle touch of the fog and pleasantly topped up with the great sky. Everything in fantastic light.

Excellent view from behind the ancient stone amphitheater Aphrodisias, with the surrounding natural scenery.
To dream of a time machine to transport back to a performance here would be marvelous.
