Here another view of the main temple of Aphrodisias : the temple of Aphrodite. At the left corner you can see the grave of the late Professor Kenan Erim, who spent half of his life, excavating this great city of the antiquity. When ha passed away in 1990 we, his friends had gotten a special permisson from the government and burried him within the site, close to the temple.
Kenan Erim'in mezarı.
1990 senesinde vefat ettiğinde, dostları olarak özel bir müsade alarak onun bu çok sevdiği topraklara gömülmesini sağlamıştık.

The light is fascinating in this picture, possibly enhanced by the dark clouds and the dark background. The white pillars get a dramatuc look from the contrast with the darkness behind. The yellow flowers brighten the foreground. Overall this is a lovely view.

You have shown us some beautiful and fascinating sights in you recent posts. In this instance, I like how you have placed the columns of the temple in an elevated position m/g; we have to work our way there which adds to the importance. The deep blue of the b/g creates a very good back cloth against which the white of the pillars shows up very well.
Have a good day,

Beautiful photo of this beuatiful ruin, I can only imagine back when this temple was standing tall and proud. Excellent color with beautiful blue mountain and sky and the inclusion of the foreground adds depth to the image. Good details and very beuatiful composition.
