5,4,3,2,1 and gone !, a photo from Aydin, Aegean

Photographer's Note

A "days end" from my most beloved antique city Aphrodisias in Karia (Western Anatolia) . Sun sets behind the main temple, the temple of Aphrodite which gave her name to the city.
And so a year ends up in a few hours and we shall start for a new year tomorrow morning !
I hope it will be far better than the year 2012 and wish all the best to my friends here at TE !

Bir koca yıl daha sona eriyor ! Büyük tutku'm Afrodisias antik kentine adını veren Afrodit tapınağının arkasında gün batmada.
Birkaç saat sonra 2012'yi de uğurlayacak, yarın sabah yeni bir yıl'a gözümüzü açacağız.
Umarım 2012'yi aratmayan bir yıl olur 2013 !
Bu vesile ile buradan, bütün TE dostlarıma her şeyin gönüllerince olacağı yeni bir yıl diliyorum !

the last days of years are seen with this sunset scenery with the sun to be hidden behind the columns of the ancient temple, and after that behind the horizon.A good contribution to the passing by 2012.

Merhaba Mesut,

A most beautiful and appropriate photograph for the last one of the year. The sun is setting on the old year but, symbolically, your favorite ruins show that things with a strong foundation will stand the test of time.

This really is a splendid view of Aphrodisias.
The colours of the sky and the shapes and lines of the clouds are a fantastic backdrop for the imposing, dark columns on the foreground.
