Cool guys selling vegetables in the streets of Hama, the city is not a highlight but it was quite convenient. The town is famous for its big wheels (called Noria) who are (were) used as a lift for the river when it is on different levels...

We met nice locals who do not hesitate to close down their shops in order to show us our way, cool...

Hello Yan,
Nice portrait this one, i like the guys happy expressions looking to the camera. The yellow ligth is a great part of the scenery provided, nice composition and sharpness. I have a 50mm f1.8 but more and more feel inclined to the 35 f2 because its wider.
Good work, Congratulations,
Regards, Daniel

Hello, Yan--
Great work here, you managed the light very well, and the composition is well-planned and well-timed. What was the light source? The warm, rich oranges and yellows against the cool blues of the background are very nicely captured.
Thanks!
sam

i love the lighting and focus in this shot. spontaneous is definitely a good word to use in this case. interesting shadows and a simple composition that is very well presented. well done!

Very interesting moment light's play.

Salut Yan,
Super les couleurs! Et ce gars qui se pointe depuis le cote, c'est marrant et bien dynamique.
Bien joue!
Nicolas

Hi Yan,

The big wheels... Hmmm, not sure how to see that. Big wheels lifting over the river... Any photographs?! ;-)
The light reflecting from a fire. Wow, 1/15. Still a good sharpness considering the situation. Nice work!

Greetings, Dennis

Nice warm light here my friend. I like your natural tilt on this one. Once again, the low pov carved a wonderful intimate portrait. Your dof game is also nice.

What's that watermark at the bottom? Don't tell me you have succumbed to the web of paranoids who think everyone is stealing your pictures over the web... :)

The guy on the left could be rotate of 90° to the right and still be in a normal position regading the horizon. It's funny.
Well, this is a rather unusual double portrait but well composed with good dettachment of the guy on the right thanks to good DOF management.
The smiles are very well captured and feel natural. We clearly understand what you mean in your note about these poeple kindness!
Besides, I love the colors, the greens and oranges. The light is divine!
BRAVO
Pris.

Gorgeous light. A great portrait of the local people.
Was it easy to get contact with them ? Could they speak a bit english or was is "with hands and feet ;D" ?
Great to travel through such countries !
greetings, inn

A happy and fun image, which says a lot about the locals. Great ambient lighting.
