| In Dier' was the first time I had come across grafitti in Syria, I suspect its nationalistic but am not sure. I only took it because arabic script is so sexy. |

Hello Ryan
This is a promotional sign written on the wall, to save money and time from designing and printing a poster.
No explicit nationalism there (quite a rarity?), but still the big bold script in the middle mentions "Assad", typical in Syria, but this time as the name of the centre: Assad International. Don't ask me why they didn't identify their service under their logo or name!
The rest is marketing (Syrian way): Our prices are unbeatable, no entrance fee, new administration, best oriental and western menu (don't expect fish and chips but possibly a local style hamburger), entertainer every day and a section for kids.
Should you require more information, you can simply call them: + 963 933 93627. This is the number written on the wall. I am sure they will be very excited to recieve a call from New Zealand. You might even boost their national or international image ;)
Hopefully this was helpful :) and let me know if you call them !
cheers,
