Photographer’s Note

An alley in the Old Town of Damascus. The majority of buildings in this fascinating district originate from the Ottoman period (1516-1918, but some date back as far as to 12th century. In 1979 the Old City was the first Syrian site included in the list of World Cultural Heritage and thus saved from the intervention of modern reconstruction or demolition.

I tried to enhance the old-aged and derelict look of the place. It looks all right to me, but understand such a strong treatment is not to everybody's liking, in the workshop you'll find sepia version without much further change.
