Photographer’s Note

An alley in the Old Town of Damascus. The majority of buildings in this fascinating district originate from the Ottoman period (1516-1918, but some date back as far as to 12th century. In 1979 the Old City was the first Syrian site included in the list of World Cultural Heritage and thus saved from the intervention of modern reconstruction or demolition.

I tried to enhance the old-aged and derelict look of the place.It looks all right to me, but understand such a strong treatment is not to everybody's liking, in the workshop you'll find sepia version without much further change.

Lovely picture in retro style!!! I like your treatment a lot, it really makes it to an old "oeuvre d'art"! Confratulations!!! And a simple dark frame! It makes it even more beautîful!!!

z jednym wyjąstkiem - niebem, dla mnie ta wersja "działa" jak najbardziej, tak jak rafał - też lubię ziarenko w takich zdjęciach;
w sumie podoba mi się takie mocne podejście, eksperymentuj dalej ola, myślę, że idziesz w dobrym kierunku;
(ps. wersja ws dla mnie nie działa - zbyt różowa ta sepia tam jest);

good impact by old photo look.the tones and light are good but I think the sky don't seem so natural here,not so harmonic with the shadows and the light in the compo.

Podoba się mi wykonanie.
Sepia na plus, tworzy osobliwy klimacik tego miejsca, w kolorze nie byloby takiego efektu.

What a shot... absolutely gorgeous. You are an artist with great eyes... I love the grain, am very fond of it, the composition as well. The only thing that looks a tiny bit questionable to me is the line in the sky, but that is not a big deal at all. The image has a definite mood that makes me ache to go there... very lovely all the way!

Trafilas na milosnika ziarna. I masz odemnie 5+ za to co zrobilas z ziarnem w tym zdjeciu. Fajny widok ale wlasnie poprzez uzycie sepii a wlasciwie tego ziarna z sepia, to zdjecie zyskuje odlotowy klimacik.

bardzo mi sie podoba, generalnie nie lubie ziarna ale tutaj mi bardzo pasuje i dodaje naprawde uroku! wszystko wyglada tak staro, kolory sa tak "wyplowiale" oddaje to bardzo ladnie stara atmosfere tego miejsca... bardzo ladna perspektywa rowniez z tym "czyms" z przodu, ladnie wszystko sie komponuje ;)

Pieknie pokazujesz nam to jedno z ciekawszych miast Bliskiego Wschodu. Podoba mi sie obrobka w odcieniach piasku, sepii, palonej kawy(?). Ladnie sie to komponuje z ziarnem. Cudownie wykorzystany kazdy szczegol. Ladnie wyciete i ujete w ramy. Perelka! pozdrawiam. maki

Wow, realy nice one. Nice threatment. specialy grain and frames, they realy fit in this photo.
I like the mood in this picture and it shows you one side of this town.
