[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Palmyra, a Greek outpost at one time, was annexed by Rome in 217 AD and became a centre of unsurpassed wealth. Today the ruins of the 2nd century city have been extensively excavated and resored. The picture was taken in late afternoon.
