AMAWIYYA MOSQUE (OMAYYAD) is built on a sacred ground which was occupied by temples of different religions, that's why the history of the mosque itself represents the whole history of Damascus.

Great POV and capture of a moment here, with the birds taking flight over a beautiful mosque. Was this taken from a car, perhaps? That would certainly explain some of the sharpness issues, especially on the left hand side of the shot - still, a very well conceived shot with a nice effect.
