I met Shaima 6 months ago. She is a little girl living in the refugee camps at the Syrian Turkish border. She is a war survivor at an early age. She sleeps in a tent with 10 people and has little food and no toys or books. Perhaps she is not older than 3 years.
I was not able to give her anything and I do not know anything about her or the many children we met at the time. I know she must be cold this winter and I know that she has been dissapointed by the world at a young age. While many politicians, dictators and economy war lords anounce, threaten, promise and convene meetings, they continue to prove to the world, generation after another, that mankind's power drunkness has no limits.

What a sad frightened little girl. I feel for her and wish I could scoop her up and keep her warm.
Men and religion are her enemies and should be brought to book for their misdemeanors.
