it sounds good to me....
it's a provoking invitation to display the reality through a different lens.....take colours away...and go for details, moods, feelings.....

that's what I realized while postprocessing this picture.

so forget about the colours...and focus on the weary tired expression of this old lady sellng peanuts and so in front of Apamea ruins.

those who are regularly visiting my gallery have noticed how jeppo is falling deep into colourlessness in the last time....dwelling into the untrodden ways of black and white

stavo pensando che a certe latitudini (geografiche e non) la vita mostra i segni del tempo che passa sui volti e sui corpi delle persone in modo molto piu' impietoso che non in altre.
onestamente non saprei dire quanto anni ha qs. donna - ma e' possibile che non sia cosi vecchia come sembra. verrebbe da chiedersi quanto colore ci sia stato nella sua vita, quanta fatica e quanto dolore.
e' importante concentrarsi anche su queste cose, e non solo sulle 'bellezze del mondo".
mi piace molto il punto di vista laterale, e anche se in un primo momento ho pensato che forse andava messa un po' piu' a fuoco, poi ho realizzato che invece va bene cosi.

Ciao Silvio. Paradossalmente il colore, il succo, sta nelle righe di questa vecchia signora. Molto intensa l'espressione e BW gestito alla perfezione.

I,too like B&W. It concentrates the mind on details and emotion. This image portrays a lady who has a minimal life in terms of material wealth but who I'm sure has a lot to offer in a more spititual way.

bel ritratto in b/n...non è facile fare ritratti, bisogna "abbattere il muro" e non è proprio facile. tu qui ci hai provato ed il risultato è notevole, mi piace molto, lo trovo intenso oltre che ben fatto tecnicamente.

I really like your new series of B&W photos.
Nice POV of the old lady. Looks a bit of more modern with the glasses :-) I always have a lot of respect of the age. Every wrinkles could tell how life goes on and one smile of these people make me think how I will look?

Buon lavoro sulla gamma tonale dei grigi scuri, in un contesto di luce molto contrastato ma che hai ben gestito. La persona non guarda verso l'obiettivo ma verso qualcosa che non si vede; forse meritava ampliare il campo e mostrare l'oggetto della sua attenzione?
Ma se non l'hai fatto ci sarà un motivo.

un ritratto di grande intensità accompagnato da una nota che fa riflettere e sposta l'attenzione dei "Trekkers" dal puro "Umwelt" al "Dasein".
Perfetta la nitidezza, l'inquadratura laterale il B&W. Bravo!!

for an image like this, a compelling portrait, it is the best in black and white. It's a classic way to present it. There is a somber mood about the image. A life not so kind to her. So much memories edges in the wrinkles of her face. How many happy days are left in her life?
