Photographer’s Note
I have been experiencing different markets and souqs during my travels...
they are always different...and all similar at the same time.
although handcrafts, spices and foods sold there are different...they still share the same noises, livelihood, colours....
that's why I love getting lost in those labyriths....snapping shots, smelling fragrances, get some local food....or just let myself float into a somehow timeless dimension
(provided I don't see coca cola bottles or hearing mobile phones ringing!)
Another shot for my dedicated theme Jeppo goes to Market

TFS,
ancora un saluto a te

Ciao Silvio,
The title couldn't be better chosen.
Whenever I travel I always visit souqs, and the more I travel and visit the more I want to see.
All markets have their own life.
Encountering loads of different expressions and lifestyles.....in few words enchanting. I love markets.
This photo you are sharing with us is also very interesting.
Detailed, very well lit and the vendor can be pround of a well equipped shop.
Ottimo lavoro,
Saluti,
Thomas

bonjour silvio,

Hello Jeppo,
Fully agree with markets being one of the joys of travelling. The time we've spent wandering through the markets of the world...
Don't you think the duality of the title - "so different, so similar" - applies to the very essence of travelling, rather than only to markets? That's what we people are: different, yet so similar.
Haven't said much about the picture...
I think it's OK: just sharp enough, shot in difficult light conditions, but the confusing gesture of the man in the front is...well, confusing. Technically, the best element is the door on the left, which I suppose is not what you had in mind.

I really appreciate the warmness of your picture. It shows very well the mood that we can feel inside those markets. You've done a very good job with the light and the dark. In French, we speak about "clair obscur".

Gradevole composizone.

Hello Silvio
I love this image of the market. Your right, the small shops have the same feel about them. I lived in Japan for a time. The shops there were small also. TFS

Ciao Silvio,
I think this man has made his small shop very attractive, like if he knew you were coming along to take a picture.
The photo has a good composition, nice colours and brings me back my memory of visiting the souqs of Aleppo (many years ago). These souqs belong to the most beautiful I've ever seen and then I was the only foreigner there.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Silvio,
good theme. Giorgio showed it, Lucoano and you. Every market
market different...and all similar at the same time. It is true. Interesting things they have here. I love markets, I could go for hours without buying anything, specially od souks.

Ciao Silvio, you have captured Daily Life here so well. Yes, there are things so different to our culture and yet many things are the same. I like how you have blurred the hands of the man to give us a real sense of life and movement. The image is beautifully sharp and well-exposed for the conditions. "Rock The Casbah" by The Clash - suggested soundtrack. Un caro saluto, Lisa.

Dear Silvio,
lifeful photo. You can also see similar scenes in Spice Bazaar, Istanbul, but you could also hear hundreds of disgusting mobile phone rings and cola cans. The expression on the face of man is very peaceful. I like it too much.
warm regards,

Ciao Silvio. Nice moment with these two in an intense discussion. Maybe it's about the price of cinnamon.i am surprised that at iso 400 and at 1/30 of a sec. the glare is not disruptive. Nice ambiance. Nice colours too. Ciao. Klaudio.
