Stunning portrait Kev. The eyes are so intense, and there is great contact with the camera. The tight crop works very well & range of tones is excellent. A proud young woman trying to study in what are very difficult times.
Very warm regards, Roberto

Hi Kev,
A few minutes ago, i was looking at the website Magnumphotos.com, and now this one. Suddenly your photo looked really like one of those great artworks.
The veil, the gaze, the curls, the light in the left eye, the white/sephia duo... all splendid details.
A very attractive one from the archives...
All the best,
Deniz

Hi Kev,
Great portrait - the use of the veil adds an element of mystery to the woman and emphasizes the eyes. It would be interesting to see a colour version of this photo also. Thanks for sharing,
Jules

Hi Kev, such an intense gaze. Beautiful and strong. Fantastic tight framing. I love the fact that her scarf leads your eye throughout and frames her eyes as well. You can feel her desire for peace in that gaze. Rgds, Leilani

Hi Kev,
This is an excellent portrait made more dramatic by the tight cropping. This forces focus onto those lovely eyes which seem filled with charm and intelligence. The B&W format has worked exceptionally well particularly with the flow of the fabric. Very well done.
Cheers Grant

Hi Kevin,
That's a wonderful portrait with really gorgeous eyes. You know what? Nurses, in the OR (operating room) know really well how to use those eyes behind a mask.. :))
Cheers

Hi Kev
Beautiful portrait. The intensity of the glance is still stressed by this white veil.
We speak in Europe of day about the women because we are 8 Mars, which future for Palestine and in particular for women who live there?
A very beautiful photo for an important testimony.
Bravo,
Friendly

Great shot! The simple picture has been made extraordinary due to the bright eyes of the young woman. Nice composition.

Hi Kev,
A very valid desire for a lot of young women in this world. Though Palestinian women will be rather far away from accomplishing this desire, or the road to it will be very hard, under current circumstances.
Nice light. I like the duo-tone feel. Not as soft as a standard sepia you often see here on TE. I like it!
Greetings,
Dennis

Beautiful portrait dear Kev. Your b&w toning is very gentle and boosts the intimacy of the shot. Great light with those layers of tender shadows beneath her eyes. Like it a lot.

Hi Kev,
What an portrait. She speak with her balck eye about so many languages, and pain, and desires. and fight, and strugle. It;s really touching.
Her white veil, tells us about the importance of peace.
Great!

If it's so meticulously presented, with all of the pixels, one by one, in place - it must be a master of portraits himself, Kev Ryan !
Her glance, her veil, your photo…
Incredibly close… Down deep close…
Go tell it to the world…

Woww...great portrait and beautiful model!
I hope someday people of Middle East will learn to live in peace. I hope someday they will realize how bad it is to kill people on a land which they believe is "Sacred"!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
And George; I understand how easy it's for you to make a generalization from another continent!
I live close to Middle East and I have many Palestinian friends who want this war to end.
Unfortunately, politicians, especially some "super powers" don't want it to end! Because they sell guns to those countries and and they don't want countries to be powerful in Middle East. It is their way to control the "power balance"! If they really wanted to bring peace to Middle East, they could have done it many many years ago such as they did for Vietnam, Irak, Korea, etc. (Ofcourse, it is open to question the kind of peace they brought to those countries.)But at least this shows if they want, they can do something.
