Photographer’s Note
Well you can be a father of your first child, your second, third or fourth but the more you have the easier it gets - all being well.....OK one more mouth to feed, another space to find in the car etc. etc. but the naturalness of being a parent has come - you are so much more relaxed and the heart firmly rules the head.
I met this wonderful man and his lovely family in Palestine this summer.....a man with a vision to draw people into relationships across the barriers of violence and arguments over land and power to meet each other as people. He is a brave man - a loving man, he carries no gun but a smile and a conviction to put himself on the front line of making the world around him a better place. This is not always an easy or safe place to be.
Those of you who know what hospitality, friendship, fatherhood and a commitment to justice and peace really mean are his peers.
I like this image for his stillness and his daughter's movement blur energy.......below the organisation which is a result of a father's love for the future of his children.

You really got great light here. No need for high key effects when your photo packs a true, genuine emotional punch. This one does, we should learn from it. Best of all this has a real human story to it, not just a snap stolen in anonymity.

If I remember correctly, I might know this girl. Am I right? If it is, I never imagined she was so little. But girls always seem "little" in their father's arms. I like how you shoot this one my friend. It's a photo about the father. It can be seen through your technique choices and just for that I pay you my deepest photographer respect. I am always amazed when someone can put the technique in the service of the message and you clearly have done it here. The light is very good, but it's the absence of it that really convinces me here. Love the eyes, love the tender open mouth. He is about to say something... probably that he adores his little one. The olive green background and shirt are amazing. Great photo.

Beaty shot. Fantastic light - you are the master in the competition. And moreover there is beatifuly shown a special bound amongst the father and his daughter - priceless. Regards T.

Nicely worked compo, using DoF neatly to focus on the dad, and leave the child just slightly soft. Maybe just a little more detail in the shaded part of his face would be good.

Beautifu, glowing, lumnous portrait, Kev. I don't think you've ever osted a better one. The man's entire personality d there for us to see.
Excellent work.

Hi kev,
In the small version, is the light I've seen with great interest. In this one, is the eyes and smile of this man, the inquiring shit, curious and really interested in something I don't know, the affection he show for what he has in front of him. Your note explain some of these particularities. A shot really intense and touched by the truth for a truly man! Thanks, and best wishes.
Angel.

Touchy portrait.
And not just technically good (great), but it has that father-daughter emotion within....The shy face and the closed eyelids, and the shoulder of the girl...
'I'm my daddy's little girl'...situation.

a very loving father and his girl seems to adore him! This is one of the most emotional pictures on this site and your note really adds to it. Thank you very much. I added it to my favourite pics

This is a stunning photo, which I have only just discovered. The note makes the image that much more poignant, and the relationship between the father and his beautiful daughter is very apparent here. I love the lighting here, too. This is exceptional.
