Stunning portrait Kev. The eyes are so intense, and there is great contact with the camera. The tight crop works very well & range of tones is excellent. A proud young woman trying to study in what are very difficult times.

Hi Kev,
A few minutes ago, i was looking at the website Magnumphotos.com, and now this one. Suddenly your photo looked really like one of those great artworks.
The veil, the gaze, the curls, the light in the left eye, the white/sephia duo... all splendid details.
A very attractive one from the archives...

Great portrait - the use of the veil adds an element of mystery to the woman and emphasizes the eyes. It would be interesting to see a colour version of this photo also. Thanks for sharing,

Hi Kev, such an intense gaze. Beautiful and strong. Fantastic tight framing. I love the fact that her scarf leads your eye throughout and frames her eyes as well. You can feel her desire for peace in that gaze. Rgds, Leilani

Hi Kev,
This is an excellent portrait made more dramatic by the tight cropping. This forces focus onto those lovely eyes which seem filled with charm and intelligence. The B&W format has worked exceptionally well particularly with the flow of the fabric. Very well done.

We speak in Europe of day about the women because we are 8 Mars, which future for Palestine and in particular for women who live there?

Hi Kev,

A very valid desire for a lot of young women in this world. Though Palestinian women will be rather far away from accomplishing this desire, or the road to it will be very hard, under current circumstances.
Nice light. I like the duo-tone feel. Not as soft as a standard sepia you often see here on TE. I like it!

And George; I understand how easy it's for you to make a generalization from another continent!

I live close to Middle East and I have many Palestinian friends who want this war to end.
Unfortunately, politicians, especially some "super powers" don't want it to end! Because they sell guns to those countries and and they don't want countries to be powerful in Middle East. It is their way to control the "power balance"! If they really wanted to bring peace to Middle East, they could have done it many many years ago such as they did for Vietnam, Irak, Korea, etc. (Ofcourse, it is open to question the kind of peace they brought to those countries.)But at least this shows if they want, they can do something.

I'm not really a people person, I admit but this eyes cannot leave me unaffected. Her look is so determined, so serious and full of strenght. Reading your note makes all seen even stronger. Tight cropping is a perfect choice, so is the gentle sepia that gives warmth to the photo, to her. She is...a woman.
