Photographer’s Note
I've posted a couple of shots from this place before, I don't know why I left this one out, but looking at it again I've decided to post it.

Hi Richard. Good thing that you finally unearth this one from the depths of your harddisk, it certainly makes a good add here on TE. The scene isn't instantly "pretty", but the documentary value is high and we get to see a lot of details with the fishmongers and market folks at work "editing" the seafood. Great choice of angle to get a compositional diagonal and fit a lot of activity into a single frame.

a quite interesting shot showing the daily life of those poor men! quite pixellised though, must have used a high ISO?

today i posted a market view too, from a colorful yet poor region of my country.
I keep wondering about the huge amount of things your eyes have seen, my dear friend...
lucky you!
good job for a work´s day :)

Hi Richard,
very good POV. I like a lot that kind of picture, which shows activities of people and way of life in a country.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Rishard, I would have dropped the top off myself, but I can smell the fish all the way from Japan, well done

Nice photo under harsh lighting conditions. It brings back good memories of Oman.
I tried a workshop with some color correction to get rid of some of the yellow and brighten up the man in the front. Let me know what you think.

What a job this must be like... poor fellows, quite hard and likely also rather malodorous... but then again, no TPS reports and memos, but reality...
An interesting documentary shot, Richard, with a good pov to let us see these workers

Good daily life capture, Richard. Pity about the blown out light at the top, but impossible to avoid in difficult lighting conditions like this - it was certainly better to leave it there than cropping heads. John's workshop is good. Cheers . . . David

A picture very strong on character, Richard, I can almost smell the fish. I like the way that the cubicles impose geometric order on an otherwise chaotic scene. regards Kevin

uhh...what a bloody place....love it...three weeks ago when in riga i went to the immense market with such a variety of "bloody" things that one could faint because of an odour...but it is always worth to go to the places for this natural massive rumour and myriad of things...
