Photographer's Note

Muscat, Oman's capital consists of several small cities separated by mountain ranges. This is the old fishing port area, Mutrah, and the most interesting part of Muscat. Muscat is also the cleanest and most orderly city in Arabia, with equally swiss prices. The dilapidated state of the boat is misleading, Muscat does not feel like a third world city. This was taken late afternoon, with rare thunderstorms around, unfortulately the sun was veiled behind a cloud as I took this I waited until it set but it never came out directly. I added contrast and darkened the sky to make the colours stronger, and even applied unsharp mask several times but still can't get my digital images as sharp looking as scans without overpixellating it.
