[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These are the ruins of an ancient village known as Knayse situated in the district of Rashayya between the villages of Kfar Kuk and Yanta. The village was abandoned in the 16th or 17th century and the ruins of the houses as they were abandoned can still be seen. It contains layers of occupation dating from the Roman period to the Ottoman period. There are remains of two temples dating to the Roman period.

Knayse is the local Lebanese dialectic form of the Arabic 'kunaysah' which means 'small church'.

In the foreground is the mountain known now as Jabal el Sheikh and in ancient times as Antilibanus and Hermon.

The photo was worked with Photoshop. Input levels were increased to about 15. In Color Balance, Red was increased to about 30 and Yellow to about 20. This gives it the impression of a Rembrandt painting.

small picture, but very fine perspective, and good light and colors.

A great note and a good picture (a pity it is a bit small). This makes me want to find out more about this place. Thanks, Alexandros & welcome to TE!
