Sidon Sea Castle captured with a wide angle lens
It was one of the most important Phoenician cities, and may have been the oldest. From here, and other ports, a great Mediterranean commercial empire was founded. Homer praised the skill of its craftsmen in producing glass and purple dyes. It was also from here that a colonising party went to found the city of Tyre.
remark: on the map you see the castle right of the harbour connected with a small way to the land

Bonitas cores e enquadramento. Bela mostra. Abraço, Consuelo

Nice POV for this shot giving us a nice overview of this fine old castle. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The people give us a good sense of scale as well as adding life to the shot.

A fine point of view overlooking the ruins of the fort with the modern city of Sidon on the background. The distortion caused by the very wide angle lens creates additional interest. Very good colours and clarity.

You had an excellent vantage point from this high POV. We can see all the way across the bay over the top of the ruins. The turquoise sea is a perfect contast to the earth tones of the rest of the image.

toller Blickwinkel! Wunderbares Foto!
Excellent shot with great detail and colors. The distortion is extreme and very artistic. Almost a "Daly".... :-)

A panorama which shows many interesting details and I to us like much the effect of the wide-angle lens here which creates another dimension with the places. Apparently the ruins of this castle are very visited. Well done Achim, thank you.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,

Amazing place! There are so many things I learn just by browsing your gallery! Excellent use of the wide lens to show this ancient structure...the modern buildings in the BG are an eye sore, but that's reality! Good work!

The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the architecture of the Sidon Sea castle. It is also leading our eyes toward the modern area of Sidon. The subject is well frame. The colors are enhanced by the good light. Have a nice dat.
