Photographer’s Note
Today Tripoli's (Tarābulus in Arabic) residents are mostly Sunni Mulims. Ancient city was located at the port. Later during Crusader invasion Castle of Saint-Gilles was built on "Pilgrim's Mountain" (the citadel), and new settlements were established around the citadel. After the ancient city was destroyed completely by Mamluks in 1289 new city was built around this castle.
