This is Baalbek, which existed already around 1000BC, and which is probably the most impressive ancient site in Lebanon. Here, you can see the roof of a temple, looking right up to the sky. This picture was taken in 2003, when Lebanon was still in peace. Right now, people will be looking up the same blue sky, in terror, waiting for new air raids, new bombs, new destruction. And who knows, it just takes one more "mistake" and also these ruins will be wiped off the earth...

Good POV and colours but not very sharp in the details.
Good note, I always wonder that these buildings loose their function and live on through the ages, sometimes in these terrible times also.
