Photographer’s Note
Here we are in sunny Kuwait waiting for the go ahead to convoy up to Baghdad. We went outside early in the morning to do PT (work out) so we stacked our weapons to keep them out of the sand. It wasnt planned but I noticed how the sun was shining through the weapons so I decided to capture the moment. Hope you like it. :0)

Amazing that you could be thinking about pictures at such a time... I guess the light was difficult to work with, but you might have had better success with your composition by putting your camera lower and closer to the guns (so that they would have appeared higher against the sky).
Hope all is well.
Frank.

So, you are in Baghdad right now? Probably a little more busy than where you were before...Hope your doing okay and staying safe. I like this shot of the weapons & sunrise...When you are in the situation, you don't think about "the message" of your photos, just what "looks good" at the time. I know what it's like. Or maybe, it's just me... Keep up the great work Phil... :)

Remind me of the publicity shot of Iwo Jima. This could dwell well for Iraq. A stack of M16s, with the sunrise coming through. Graphical and symbolic here Phil. Take care and God's care.

Hi Philip,
Seems like a piece of art you have here made out of M-16s.
Do you usually do this when you stack your M-16s?
Overall, well done.
Regards, Ramy.
