Photographer’s Note
A group of soldiers play a game of football as the sun sets in Kuwait. A great way to wind down from a hard day's work.

This is such a unique experience! Actually a very good shot as well: I love the colors of the sky, and the way the black shadows of the soldiers appear against the dark background, with the sand blurring their legs (there is something mysterious/atmospheric about the picture). Happy 4th to you and those around you.
Frank.

Quite a photo. The atmosphere is great. I like the noise in the image. Gives it the feel of the rising heat. Maybe that's exactly what it is rather than noise. It also gives a ghostly atmosphere to the people. And the capture of all of them here, in this large, arid, hot, landscape under an equally warm sky is very good. Nicely done, Phil. Stay safe out there.

This picture shows that there is tranquility in this world of torment! Excellent shot, beautiful colours. Keep up the positive work. Very well done.

Wow..what a great shot Phil. Sort of eerie looking at the dark figures. How strange that everything seems to be blurred except the people. While staring at the pic, the people seem to move. I can just imagine the interaction these soldiers have in order to just unwind and not think about where they are!

Hi, Philip, this is a great photo, I do love it. It doesn't seem a game, but the overall image is just beautiful. Congrats!

Very strong, dramatic atmosphere, with a wagnerian sky and the human silouettes. It reminds me somehow of "Apocalyps Now", after the storm, the fun, without of course, the very photogenic jungle. Who will be able to make this flat, beige battle-ground as beautifull as Francis Ford Coppola did with Vietnam in "Apocalyps Now"? You, maybe, if you go to UCLA, in the Movie Department, like Jim Morrison (the Doors) did. Wish You Well.
