Photographer’s Note

This image was taken a few years along along the shores of the Dead Sea in Jordan, at the Mövenpick Hotel, just a little after sunset. Because of its unusually high concentration of salt, anyone can float in the Dead Sea easily because of natural buoyancy. The water of the Dead Sea has a greasy feel to it. The water stings cuts, and causes pain if it comes in contact with the eyes. The landform that you see in the background is Israel.
