[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This ancient city was first established around the 6th century BC, by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area of what is now southern Jordan. Their commercial skills resulted in creating an empire that stretched to Syria, and in its heyday the city was a house to 18 thousand people who benefited from taxes laid upon caravan traders.

The principle route to the city begins at the Siq, the famous gorge, but as you walk from the main entrance along a dusty path you'll first see these sandstone rocks on the left with tombs encarved in them. the colour of these rocks differs from the dominating red of the city, and it's a view that hardly prepares you for what lies ahead...

Wow, Petra. To jest jedno z kich marzen. Odwiedzic Petre. Powiedz Aleksandro jak ty to robisz ze bywasz w tak fantastycznych miejscach...

Zdjecie piekne, profesjonalnie zrobone. Swietny widok, wszystko ladnie i ostro, i super kolory. Bardzo podobaja mi sie te cienie i detale jakie widzimy w skalach.

This is one of my favorite photos - of yours of anyone else's. The lighting is fantastic, against that dark sky, even better - and the landscape is just so exciting - to me it looks like heaven - because to me, heaven is an eroded sandstone landscape. :-)

Wonderful the light and shadow here on the rocks and petra mysterious in the shade, what a grey dark sky, makes the scene dramatic here, very niely framed with the slope of the mountain from left Aleksandra, an excellent shot ! so many to see lately hard to follow up.

Witaj Ola, to piekne miejsce. Szczęśliwy ten który może poczuć wiatr i zapach Afryki Pólnocnej. Petra to wspaniałe miejsce. Dobry kadr ukazujący otoczenie zespołu świątynnego. Ogladający ma wyobrażenie gdzie i jak to jest usytułowane.

What an extraordinary take of Petra. It is so unlike the others I have ever seen. It is not focusing on the reddish rocks and frontal view, but taken from an angle, showing a moody 7.30 (morning or evening?) moment with a vast gray sky and the partially lit mountains. It is a superb shot!
