A shot of the Dead Sea from on of the hotel of the Jordanian coast. We had to chose an hotel since it is really important to have a shower after your bath so you don't get burnt by the heavily salted sea. It looks like that in Jordan, you can find a spot to have a swim only in the north part of the Dead Sea.
As you can guess, the Sea was named after the fact that no animal can live in that dangerous atmosphere.
The funny thing about having a swim here is that the salty water feels strange. You feel as if you had spread oil all over your body in fact. Anothe funny thing is that you need you passport since you will have to drive several military check points to reach that location from Amman or Madaba.
To get there, we followed a nice narrow road from the Nebo Mount (where Moise is burried) down to the Dead Sea. The panorama over the Dead Sea, Palestine and Israel was absolutely incredible.
Resized, levels adjusted, USM applied.

Hey Steven! Thats an original one, as I have never been to Jordan to see the sunsets behind the Mountain of Yehuda and Shomron...I only saw the sunrises over the Edom mountains of Jordan...

D'habitude je n'aime pas le plein centre, mais je dois avouer que ici ça fonctionne plutôt bien

Your photo has given a heratbeat to the Dead sea! Beautiful warm colours and a very nice frame. Really interesting note! Good work!

Great shot and nice colouring.
Just love the size of the sun :)

The golden colour in this shot is overwhelming. The sun in the frame really emphasizes to me the heat and brightness. Great texture in the reflection off the water. Well done!

Very good technique to get such excellent result on this shot. It looks so peaceful with these intense golden colours. Hard to believe this a very inospit place.

Capturaste colores magnificos, super calidos, un sol en potencia con sus rayos muy bien reflejados en el mar. Una maravilla de foto.

C'est un grand classique qui fait toujours rêver, le coucher de soleil!

Wow, magnificent! I just love the softness of the sky in contrast to the texture of the water!

Beautiful golden view. I must say the level-adjustment turned out perfectly. I like the composition with the sun in the center..

I like tjis one very much.
The sun right in the middle tells us that it was a hot day and that you look out for a cooler evening.
I also have a question. Can you explain what 'USM applied' means. I see that you use it almost on all your pictures.
