Paul,
This is astonishing.
If you would not point out the landrover I think I wouldn't notice it - the mountains got my attention.
Very good composition.
Thanks - Shir

You're right, this is a very impressive sight. Even from the thumbnail the mountains themselves looked impressive. But then once I looked at the full size image and saw that Land Rover I was truly awed. It is a reminder of how small we are in the world and how big nature is, no matter how much we think otherwise. And on top of that you have excellent lighting and captured beautiful textures. Another idea of cropping this would be to crop out the sky completely and have just a towering wall above the tiny car. But that's just another option that you can do to this already excellent image that one has to marvel at for some time, I think, just to truly take in this scale here.

Hi Paul,
very nice desert picture, these mountains are very impressive.
The car is so little... but so essential to this shot !
Well done

Amazing shot, Paul, and yes, it's all about scale. I must admit I nearly didn't open the thumbnail but your title gave me a hint that it may be worthwhile. And it was! Well done.

Wow !!
I read the title and couldn't locate the car. Even after opening the picture, it took me several seconds to see it ! So impressive. I like those tones, with the light playing on them, and giving lot of details on the mountains. Very well done !
Cheers,
Youssef.

Hi Paul, I really like this kind of arid, deserted andimpressive lanscape so typical for the Middle East region. The inclusion of the jeep emphasizes the grandeur of this mountains. The light helps to bring out the beautiful textures on the mountainslopes. Nice colours and contrast. Well done!
Regards
Very impressive shot, Paul.
The car give the size of these moutains.
Yhe picture is a little boit grainy (scan ?) and color balance is not good (cyan excess the sky especially). So I have made a WS.

Impressionante photographie. Netteté et profondeur de champs rendent le paysage fascinant. La petitesse de la voiture rend les choses à leurs justes proportions. Il serait difficile de se faire une idée sans cet indice.

Hi Paul
My first impression of this photo wasn't the best; it felt quite "ordinary", point&shoot...
Then I saw the car... and it gained a whole other dimension... my fault, I should have read the note before making any judgment.
I still think that there should be some more contrast, and a frame, even a simple one, would definitly improve the overall composition.
Also, a vertically framed photo, showing the main peak, the car in the 1/3 right side, and a lot of sand would probably emphasize even better the "tinnyness" of the human nature... I did a little workshop to show what I mean...
