Photographers Note
Petra is definitely a place worth to be visited. The geological formations, the pink tones, the local people, and the ruins form a magnificent set for photographers and film makers. Lots of tourists too.
What is most exciting is that visitors walk along a deep and dark canyon for a while until they reach the old monument called " El Hazineh " (The Treasury) and the first sight at the end of the tunnel they get is absolutely stunning that the vision is never forgotten. Like others I walked along this dark road, followed and caught a foreign lady before she reached the light.

Very clever, lots of shots of this famous landmark, but the guy in silhouette, bottom right, gives this that something extra, like so many of your shots.

Hi Izzet,
This temple is really nice. When you discover it from the Siq passage, after having walk between clifs, it's really a magical feeling.
Loot at it here too!.

herhaba izzet, you're absolutely right - i'm going to visit the place in sept. or oct.;
a fascinating shot - without those tine figures at the bottom of the temple we would think it is a relatively small facade with columns, now we cas see how huge the thing is;
very nice, indeed;

I knew this was you without even looking at the name - it instantly reminded me of one of your earlier photographs - my comment 'my kind of photograph' - well a few things strike me here Izzet:
You seemed to have conjured up all the mystery and intrigue of an Agatha Christie plot or an Hercule Poirot movie in one image - I feel like I have seen the film already now! That's a lot for one image!
You also seem to have created a surrealist illusion that the movement would have been proud of!
....and whilst all of these things appeal greatly there is for me a wonderful naturalistic facet to my enjoyment of your picture - the angle on the treasury really emphasises the task that the architect, masons and sculptors undertook. I can see and hear them marking out and working on this to carve it from the rock.
I guess you guessed I like this one by now!

I think this photography was taken from a high location. It can bee seen nice in this position, but the shadow man on the right seen makes it a bit disturbing. Any way it is nice photo.
Thanks

Hello Izzet
jolie composition, j'aime bien l'atmosphere apportée par cette ombre, et ce cadrage qui nous fait decouvrir cette porte superbe. Et les deux visiteurs au pied du monument qui nous renseignent sur la taille de celui ci.

Hi Izzet
Good warm colors and the right shadow to pronounce this facade of the very well known Petra (also name of my sister :)).
This man in front is rather mysterious so dark contrasting I think there is still enough texturing in it to lighten it up a tiny bit.
It gives this view with the people down a total new aspect.
Very well done

Awesome photo, Izzet. You have transformed Petra to a Western classic...name it The Lost City! Great composition with the hatted man's silhouette in the foreground.
Petra appears to be an amazing place, judging by your photo and that of a recent post by Evren (nerve).

Hello Izzet,
très belle photo de ce lieu magique.
La silhouette de cet homme fait l'image.
Incroyable ce temple construit dans la roche (et sans dynamite), très belles couleurs. Bien vu !
