Photographer’s Note

Picture of the "treasury", probably the most known landmark of Petra. Although several theories exist about the use of this building, nobody is really sure. As practically all buildings in Petra, it was carved out of the solid rock during the era of the Nabateans (Petra was their capital).
I was quite fortunate that nobody was in the picture (I did not erase anybody with pp and I did not pay the people to get out of my view).

And for those curious filmfans: I did not see Indiana Jones.

Hallo Hendrik,
Mooi aan deze foto is dat we meer te zien krijgen dan het klassieke beeld van de 'treasury'. Goede compositie met de paardekar erbij. Het lijkt er wel koud te zijn ... Geen idee hoe het er einde november is. Ik bezocht Petra ooit in de zomer.

Bonsoir, cher Hendrik,
Il existe de par le monde des trésors extraordinaires ! Cette gemme architecturale est splendide. Il faut rendre grâce à la main de l'homme quand elle agit de la sorte !
Un moment de grâce pour bénéficier d'une prise de vue sans touristes.
La présence du cheval et de la mini carriole donne un plus à la composition.

Ah tres bien ca comme image, le rickshaw local balance tres bien la facade monumentale ca fait une excellente composition, d'autant plus qu'il n'y a pas un touriste avec sa camera dans le cadre !

Photos of Petra were posted here quite often, but I must say that your POV is definitely different. The vehicle is also interesting element. Fine composition.
