Photographer’s Note
Back from another trip - this time to some Middle Eastern countries.
Here's a shot from Jordan - the desert of Wadi Rum. As the sun set behind the rocky mountains it was energizing to keep climbing higher to get a good vista of the scene.
Camping over night in tents followed, with a sunrise to soon look forward to.
*Ive added a brighter, more colorful version I was working on in the WS.

Very romantic David
Is it Sir Lawrence standing alone on top of the hill overlooking Wadi Rum ? True that this desert is special, I like it too

Hi David,
Amazing, impressive capture... I like this severe landscapes... You have shown here very well all beauty of desert landscape. I think that desert instructs the human being in respect and submissiveness... Excellent composition with silhouette of people; intriguing colours...
Very well done. Best regards,
Andrzej

Welcome back David,
I was just wondering what happen to you. I know some of us have to take a short break from TE due to busy at work and personal life issues that we have to deal with. I'm glade you're just away on another wonderful adventure. This is wonderful iamge to start with. A beautiful sunset in this great wide open desert, good POV and composition. Beautiful and subtle tone. Very soothing. Some area maybe under exposed but it give it a rich darker tone that is also nice in its own way. thanks

Hey David,
I was wondering where you had gone ;o)
Great shot here especially with all those textures and details we can make out in the fading soft beautiful light. Nice sky, and the tiny people silhouetted give a good idea of scale to this wonderful image with a great sense of tranquility.

Hi David.
You get around!
Nice shot with very subtle sepia tones, although I'm not sure if you have desaturated or if it's natural. Great composition, and I like the strong vignette effect in the bottom left corner. Is that a person or a post on the left? If not for that shape I would say it could be from another planet.

Andrew

hi david
interesting: the grass looks almost like rain droplets hitting water surface.
the scene reminds me of soviet science fiction movies... mood well captured.

Hi David,
Wow - that was my first thought when I looked at this shot. It has that touch of the unreal, like something out of a fantasy or science fiction movie. On first glance I thought that was water with rain drops falling on it, like Kristaps said.
I checked out the WS, too, but to be honest, I prefer this version. It has a kind of somber feeling that's less prominent in the version with the brighter colours.
Superb shot, thanks for sharing!
Best wishes
Claudia
