Taxi in Petra, a photo from Aqaba, South

Photographer's Note

this is the local version of a Taxi in the ancient rock city of Petra in Jordan. This guy was just sitting there in front of the treasury, waiting for customers.
In my opinion, the most impressing part of Petra is the 1 mile long gorge called the Siq that leads from the modern town of Wadi Moussa to the treasury. I might show a picture from there later.

Hi Daniel,

What A cool and funny shot, I love it. I have seen the camel up close and personal, but not with this funny expression. Excellent sharpness on the nose and those crooked teeth. This is almost too close for comfort :) I can almost smell the breath.

What a great descriptrion for the great portrait for the camel. I like this bold cropped zooming appraoch very much. So sharp / clear presentation due to F 9 is admirable as usual. Your work is always great by getting good daylight.

This is a very funny shot that has also been well taken with a super out of focus BG so that there is nothing to distract from this wonderful face. I like the close crop and the colours - very well done.

This looks rather funny from this shooting angle until we look closely with those teeth! The clarity is great and shallow dof emphasizes the details and striking colors. I particularly love the pose, the eyes and the catchlights. Splendid closeup work again, Congrats, TFS

First, this guy has a bad dentition and shouldn't smile like so to show it !!
Anyway, this picture is a fine anatomy lesson, beautifully decorated by the harness.
According to it's expression, it seems ready to spit at someone who doesn't pay full fare!!

Daniel,
A face that only a mother could love. This one almost appears to be winking. I like that the photo is focused on that slimy mother. Nice work...I look forward to more from Petra.

This is an incredible portrait photo of the camel! The focussing and depth of field along with the blurred background are perfect.
It'd have been nice, if you could frame the image vertically.

HI Daniel -- What an incredible portrait of this camel. With all the nose in front, his eyes still seem to be heading forward. I love the curled lip. Makes me want to duck. He really looks like he wants to spit. Great movement and anticipation. Wonderful. Judy

sooo funny, it brought me immediately back to Petra. More than that, I tried to get a close picture of a camel, but I was not successful. Yours is just perfect, great crop and great moment captured. I would already be worried from being so close ...
