Hi Willem!
Just a quick word... I like your photo, because it seems to be right in the middle of the "learning about the world" target, with the juxtaposition of old and new world.
Now to the critique part... the compression didn't help sharpness, but I'd like to know what you focussed on. In such a case, I guess I would have aimed for the ruins and used the widest available aperture, because the modern houses can afford to be diluted a bit in the OoF background. Moreover, your image is tilted slightly to the left: in film days, difficult to correct. In Photoshop Elements (and even more so in the bigger versions) it takes five seconds...
The positive critique: you have chosen a good time of day to shoot. Nice light - can be boosted in PP with either the curves or the levels.
But then I have learned something today. I thank you for that!
TFS (I'm lazy too, at times...)
