Photographer’s Note
Today, religious Jews and Judaism celebrate Shavuot שבועות. Jewish holiday that occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan (late May or early June).
It marks the conclusion of the Counting of the Omer and the day the Torah was given to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai. It is one of the shalosh regalim, the three Biblical pilgrimage festivals.
The date of Shavuot is directly linked to that of Passover. The Torah mandates the seven-week Counting of the Omer, beginning on the second day of Passover and immediately followed by Shavuot. This counting of days and weeks is understood to express anticipation and desire for the Giving of the Torah.
On Passover, the Jewish people were freed from their enslavement to Pharaoh; on Shavuot they were given the Torah and became a nation committed to serving God.
According to Jewish tradition, Shavuot is celebrated in the Land of Israel for one day and in the diaspora (outside of Israel) for two days. Reform Jews celebrate only one day, even in the diaspora.

A bit noisy, but that technical defect is nothing at all compared to such a emotional expression from your picture.

Human interaction well captured, the boy's expression convey (for me) a mixed expression of sadness and curiosity, the old man seems protective and controlling at the same time. Interesting dynamic. I like the grainy feel, it would have looked a bit artificial if it was squeaky clean.

Hi Agnieszka,
a beautiful and intimate scene, good light, perfect background. There is only some lack of sharpness, I think the focus is on the shoulder. But it´s a beautiful double portrait.
Compliments, Christian
