Photographer’s Note
I have had a couple of free days to just wonder around with my camera, looking for worthy postings... :). Since my favorite wondering partner fell ill, I've constrained myself to the borders of my city - Haifa.
This is the southern end of Haifa bay, a neighborhood called "Bat Galim" ("of the waves"). These sea-side grounds, which everywhere else would have been prime real estate, inhibit a rather a simple, in some parts poor neighborhood, and many of us here are waiting for it to be discovered and developed. Meanwhile, I bring you the "raw" view.
The orange capsules are the cable cars running between Bat Galim and Stella Maris (shall elaborate tomorrow).
Some points in the view:
The breakwaters belong to the Bat Galim beach.
The tall white building is the Technion's (Haifa Tech) Medical School.
The "beached" ship is the Navy Museum.
The anchored ships are waiting to be loaded/ unloaded at Haifa Port. They've been waiting for quite a while now, since there was a longshoreman strike (I will post a better photo of the ships in a few days).
Hope you enjoyed the ride... :)

Great view Liora - and surely worth posting - I like the fresh colours of sea and the houses. I wouldn't expect a cable line here - you found a fine angle for this shot - thanks.

A real nice view of Haifa...In my opinion the small detail that made the real difference between a common view of the city from above and an interesting photo like this one are the orange capsules of the cable. They are giving color and lead the eye to the rest of the view...very well done!

Beautiful view, Liora. I love those detailed shots from a distance which offer such a big amount of details to explore. Crisp detail and beautiful colors all over, and I like the diagonal element contributed by the cables and the delighful splash of color from the cabins. Thanks for this fine guided tour of your city :-)
Added into Mohammad's "cable car" theme.

I like the hanging gondola cars. They just seem to float over the city. Very nice colors through this. Though it seems a bit soft in the distance it doesn't detract too much from the overall photo. The feel is still here. And the movement is nice through this work. Down the cable and up the streets to the water. Well done.

You definitely are NOT afraid of heights Liora! And you seem to have an affinity for what you call cable cars. (Those of us from San Francisco have quite a different notion of what a cable car is... Cable Car Tour)
This is a fine TE shot Liora, with an excellent vista of the port city of Haifa... your hometown. Colors and details work and your decision to crop tight at the top was judicious since the sky appears less that photogenic. All the white buildings announce this is a Mediterannean city. From way up here it looks very inviting. Thanks for sharing your home with us. I'll go for a ride with you any day... ;-)

Beautiful angle of composition Liora, the game of the lines which cross the image, the colour of cabins and the sight on the city. Really in mind of TE and it is made a very success. Good shot!
Bel angle de composition Liora, le jeu des lignes qui traversent l'image, la couleur des cabines et la vue sur la ville. Vraiment dans l'esprit de TE et c'est bien réussi.
