Photographer’s Note
When I was in Jerusalem, I did not have time to get to a vantage point to shoot the Dome of the Rock as I wanted. I was not able to get high enough or to get to a more clear view of this amazing sight. I was sitting on the roof of a building in the Old City as our guide was giving us a detailed review of history and while it was very interesting, I was consumed with trying to find a way to shoot the domb so that I was more than just a snapshot with the materials of life interrupting the view.
When I got back to my computer to upload the days shots, I thought that if I cropped this one and gave interest to the antennae, wires and trash showing that the old and the new live together in daily life, it could tell a story.
I am heading back to Israel in a few weeks and hope to get the time to ride out to the vantage point that will lead me to getting the shot I've been thinking about for a long time.
In PSE I used NeatImage, Sharpen, and the QuickFix features.

hi fran! :-)
great shot of the Dome of the Rock.
i like your unusual cropping,
you can´t really see what it is
but everyone actually knows.
regarding the satellite dishes on almost
every roof in the old city, i found them
"interrupting", too, but they also give an interesting contrast between the "old" city and the "young" technologies.
hope you had and will have a nice time in israel! take care, thor.
