My Intro to Israel, Day 4, Scene 6
We are on the Banias Reserve, relatively close to Tel Dan. At the center of the reserve flows the Hermon River, one of the sources of the Jordan River. Water from the springs erupts from the rocks at the heart of the reserve, and is the source of the Hermon River. This is melted snow that seeps into the rocks down the slopes of Mount Hermon. When the water reaches the Banias region, it flows out and is collected in large pools, used by visitors for dipping and wading.
These springs are the northernmost source of any of the tributaries of the Jordan River, so they are considered the birthplace of the Jordan. Since the Jordan plays an important role in Judeo-Christian tradition, many visitors such as this lady pray, collect water (see WS photo) or just dip here (see other WS photo).

Hello Murat, Interesting scenes at the river Jordan source. I like the view of the woman praying in your main photo. It seem quite a touristy place, with a lot of people. I is your foot in sandals?

This is an interesting photo, especially considering the importance of the Jordan river not just in a religious perspective but even more in the geo-political situaion of today. They should not collect too much water here for souvenirs, or there may soon not be enough left for the swimmingpools in the settlements :o(.
But it's a nice photo with the paved road encircling the tiny spring and the two groups of visitors seen on each side of the trees, forming a triangle with the woman.

One of the most toured nature reserve in Israel, Murat, and indeed one of three tributes to the Jordan river, by itself not like the Mississippi, more like a creek...
Multi-green location and under best light you managed to distinct well between diff. plants and trees.

Well, it begs the question then...did you step in for a wade around and cool off the dogs? :) With the rich history and beautiful surroundings, I keep finding myself focusing in on the rocks which are spread throughout the foreground pool!? Odd, I know, but it sure makes an impact on my perspective. Obviously very well known the Jordan River, and a fine tributary to this tributary...wait, is that possible? lol On the technical side, very well managed exposure...bright light and pockets of shade are tough to deal with, but this turned out great. Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take good care.

An image which conveys the description perfectly, the colours and warm light work so well depicting an alluring historical & archaeological sight. The viewpoint brings a whole new meaning to the puddles so well balanced with the eye popping fig nicely placed shaded by some lovely green setting. Excellent shot, Congrats

Good note for the interesting place, just weeks ago I was at a baptism with water bring from the Jordan
About dipping it may work as the Ganges in India, considered also a sacred river
Good TT contribution
