Old town Jaffa near the Flea-market area, the arcade and the long veranda above, along Beit-Eshel st. built in Turkish-style, during Ottoman ruled era more than 150 years ago.
Taken under afternoon light, exp. bias -1/3, also managed to avoide cars and traffic on lower part of the picture.
Location in Jaffa: 32.054, 34.7567

A good way of avoiding the cars and capturing the essence of this very interesting architecture. The light was rather harsh and there is some evidence of over-exposure in the upper part of the image, nevertheless the detail is reasonably well rendered. The clear blue sky makes a fine backdrop for the delicate pink tones of the building.

On these way are all cars disappeared, this is absolutely enough for a lovely picture.
Excellent perspective with all the arches on one row.
We see clear a very old building, not the traditional style of your country and the Israeli people.
Nice captured, good composition and presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

The length of the building gave you a challenge to have it straight. The point of view is showing the details and colours of the architecture of the buidling. The quality of the light is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.

Architecture that transcends the soul of ancestors, under renovations, I presume.
You show the best of the arcade from the angled perspective for an interesting poster.

the decisive perspective and the tight framing of your composition, the very strong colours and contrasts and the absence of any other reference in the foreground, have given this image a very attractive graphic aspect. The colours immediately catch our attention but the mysterious shadows are very inviting too. I love the brightness of the walls, the chromatic contrast and relief of the sky and the fascinating textures along the arches. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

You're capturing well this architecture by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the old arcade with unique design. Especially, it's interesting in a conical pillar of Turkish-style in Ottoman era as you note. And, it seems to be well built as two-story collective housing.

Ciao dear Ike
Sorry I've been off TE for a while as I'm in Victoria seeing my god children. Not much time for TE nor to get on the Internet. But I couldn't resist this one. I love that characteristic old architecture, the colours, history, textures and atmosphere that it brings. Excellent POV, and perspective. I like this place Jaffa a lot and would love to see it one day.
Warmest wishes to you and H

Bon cadrage pour bien apprécier l'architectures, les arches et les détails des façades, bien rendu par une très belle lumière

A little tired over time, but still very beautiful arcades of the old houses and balconies. Bright walls harmonize with the blue of the sky. Excellent image quality.

A fine pov, uses the repeating arches and the verandahs most effectively, as both a guide and to give a sense of depth.
The light was very strong, despite that, you have been able to capture excellent details of the buildings façade.
The deep blue sky makes a lovely contrast tot the pale building.
My warm regards,

quanta storia è passata sotto queste arcate.
Costruzioni che ancora oggi possiamo ammirare, grazie alla loro resistenza ed alla tua passione per la fotografia.

Maybe it's because the U.S. is a relatively young country, but I'm always so impressed seeing things today that were built hundreds of years ago...and not only for show, but still in use today! I really enjoy the perspective created from this composition, almost feels like it's being pulled to the bottom right corner, but is still balanced. I will forever like these types of rustic and weathered facades, so much character and texture displayed. All of this combined with a deep blue sky for color contrast, and you've got yourself a fine result. :) Thanks for the view around the old town. Have a pleasant Friday.

That seems to be historical building.Even with all the modernity and Post-Israel,the building stands to retain its Turkish architecture.Great presentation.Very well done.TFS.
krzychu30 (15498) 2013-05-17 2:32
I agree with some other opinions, that the slightly higher POV was a good choice to avoid the traffic and thereby to concentrate only on the architectural aspect of the scene. And the architecture with arcades below looks really captivating and we can feel its own charm.
Another thing I like about the image is the superb color contrast between the building so beautiful blue sky.It adds some vibrancy to the scene.
Have a good day

Beau contraste entre les teintes de la façade au premier plan et la densité du bleu de ce ciel.
mirosu (14972) 2013-05-20 0:42
If do not indicate the name, I'd believe this is photo from Ipoh or other smaller town in Malaysia. Difference to Malaysia is that each arcade arch would be a open shop or outdoor eating stall, and plenty of advertisement (company names) boards. Nice perspective, very good viewpoint.
mkamionka (30877) 2013-05-20 13:03
very nice style, interesting presentation. Strong but good light with nice blue sky. May be pity that we don't see more context of these lovely buildings but I guess you wanted to focus on the very essence.
Very well done,

I'm glad you're showing na older quarter! Very good pov!I like the details of the old buildings and the colours are very good also. The sun light on the facades let us see all the details. Nice work!
siudzi (34047) 2013-05-27 4:47
These buildings are really in the poor conditions but still kept its own character and design. Like your presentation taken from a well selected POV to build such a nice scene. Well done! TFS.

Interesting old architecture, good light and effect with the perspective, good depth for the photo.
