Photographer's Note

The Tel-Aviv sea-front hotels strip, taken with a zoom extract, from the Jaffa promenade, with the afternoon lights .
The half-round structure in mid-picture used to be the "Dolphinarium" – a Dolphins-show's arena, now abandoned, and closed.
The colorful building to center-left (blue/white/yellow/red) is one luxurious known hotel in Tel-Aviv, not so impressive in picture's.
Distance to the far end of strip from Jaffa-port : about 4.8 km.

Hello Ike.

You know the quality is bad, right? It could be either because of the camera or that the image size is smaller than the size as shown here. But apart from that, I find this a nice image. It isn't that much of a composition and it is a bit messy, but you've hit the right exposure and you show an interesting place. I said that it isn't that much of a composition, but you've cut it in the right places. And getting a good composition out of such cityscapes or skylines is not easy. So somehow this is an OK photo, but be aware of the quality.

I admit my ignorance here. But Tel Aviv in this photo is like nothing I imagined it to be. I thought there would be historic buildings everywhere but instead we see modern skyscrapers. So I have learnt a new thing. The image is well-composed, with lovely colours and shapes. Nice job.

The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the hotels on the waterfront of Tel Aviv. They are well placed in the frame. The late afternoon light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Thanks for sharing this photo. I am amazed that in a country that had seen wars and maybe still technically at war with its neighbours, such property development has gained foothold and does not seem to be slowing down.

Hi Ike,

quite impressive view of TelAviv scyscrapers. Good composition but the sharpness coul be better :). maybe you shot this from the long distance/ Froma boat or something? many big hotels here. I like the one on the right, like pyramid. I find it always interesting that the big city is right on the beach. I was in Israel but not in Tel Aviv :(. I preferred to spend more time in jerusalem but maybe it was not a good choice?

These monumental and huge modern hotels on the seafront. But honestly say that I prefer, however, small pensions, and not such big giants. Great composition and very good quality.

Truly a modern architecture picture, Tel-Avis Sea on his best.

A good close-up on this busy built-up neighbourhood. There are lots of different buildings to be seen of all different shapes and sizes. They seem very close together but I guess that's partly the function of the telephoto lens.

Here on the 'other side' of the world from yours, Tel-Aviv looks similar to our coastal towns - giant high rises jammed close like a collage of modern architecture.

Very nice, compact use of the telephoto feature Ike, the compression of the image is really felt here. I like the tight composition that just draws me into the scene and helps show the scale of these buildings. Must have been a clear day because there is a lot of light and the water is such a deep blue that it stands out rather well in contrast to the already colorful seaside. As with most photos, I enjoy the shapes this presents, another Lego-like construction of sorts. I like this look along the coast, it certainly has a different feel to it. Thanks for sharing the viewpoint.
