Photographer’s Note
I am taking a retrospective journey, like some other older members of the TE community who are equipped with a slide/film scanner. I acquired one in February and have recently mustered enough courage to salvage some of the old slides from my travels almost three decades ago.
During our stay in Israel the weather was miserable most of the time and I was pretty uninformed in those days about getting the best out of ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
Still, there is something endearing about such shots taken so long ago where the image has now acquired a feel of "the way we were."
The image you see is from a scanned Ektachrome slide and shows the wailing Wall and the Dome of the Rock.

Hi Klaudio,
good composition and your showing some famous highlights of the city in a rainy decor that's not easily associated with Jerusalem.

Kako si Klaudio,
Must be an exhilarating experience. Looking at this photo I have two thoughts. The first thought is..."this is exactly how Jerusalem must have been like in 1980" and the second thought is that the gloomy mood fits a city that has seen so many bloodbaths.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Klaudio,
a very good perspective seen here. though scanned it is still excellently presented and composed.
The texture of the wall gives a feeling of historical. I like the way you inclde the branches.

Hi Klaudio,
that's the place where the beliefs clash. In January 1978 I stood at the same place and the weather was rainy too.
Kind regards from Germany,
Roland

Hello Klaudio,
This is an excellent one, I liked a lot. The most important part of historical city perfectly captured. Grains of film and special tones of chemical bath are just wonderful. Congratulations. Have a nice new week.
Friendly Regards,

Hello Klaudio
Good to see other Aussies posting scanned images from the past - at least you had an SLR. I have posted quite a few taken with an instamatic! The slide doesn't seem to have deteriorated over the almost 30years. There is a lot of detail coming through of the wailing wall and the dome. Tfs, Marlene

I love the mood of this photo, Klaudio: its texture (the graininess), the toning, the wet/moisture feel. Personally I haven't seen an image picturing Jerusalem in the rain so far. Thank you.
