"Moscovia" Monastery
--------------------

Built by the Russian Orthodox Church at the end of the 19th century. Originally the name of the church was "Gorny" meaning "Mountainous" in Russion. But since then it has been nicknamed "Moskovia" (Arabic for Moscow) by the local Arab villagers, because of the domes on its roof similar to other Russian churches. The monastery has two churches enclosed within a compound wall.

Bonjour David,

Ta photo est très bonne (j'aime particulièrement l'environnement qui entourre le monastère)!

Mais c'est surtout que c'est la première fois que je vous une église Orthodoxe à Jérusalem.

Bravo!

Hi David,
Beautiful capture of the beautiful old monastery that is seen in all its wonderful intricate detail as it contrast nicely with the lush green trees. Very interesting note as well.

Good shot! I always like to see these domes, which are unlike any others in the world. The background being dark adds a lot to this shot as it makes it easy to see the building in front, and makes it stand out more by contrast. Well done!

Hi David
It's been a while. I hope you are well.
An image high in quality thanks to the sharpness, but thanks also to the careful composition. Nice one.
Best wishes
Mark

Hi David,

Like Terry, it is the first time that I see an orthodoxe church in Jerusalem. It is beautiful and interesting image which highlights well the architectural values of the building which in addition arises well on this environment vegetable. The light is excellent and gives interesting reliefs. Beautiful glance and thank you for the instructive note.

With all my friendships and with soon,

Jean-Charles
