Last Friday drove up to Jerusalem on small TE meeting, Murat Tanyel and his lovely wife Mery who were in Israel on a tour. See us on the attached WS.
In this picture is the YMCA building, near where Murat & Mery were staying, across the street from the known King-David hotel.
Taken on late afternoon time, enhanced saturation, and I am aware of the harsh backlight condition. (#2 WS with diff. view).

This building taken during late afternoon light looks pretty interesting and special. Its walls have a fantastic pattern very well presented with good sharpness and DOF. Well seen and executed presentation. TFS.
Have a nice Saturday!

Bonjour, cher Ike,
Voilà un petit reportage fort sympathique à travers les différentes prises de vue.
De plus, le sujet principal est très joliment présenté.
Très bonne journée.

It must be pleasant to stay in an historical building. With the dome and the tower this YMCA looks a little like a church. The place also looks nice in its green surrounding.
Best regards, Paul

The trees are frsming well the building. The point of view is showing the details and the colors of the architecture of the building. The good luminosity is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.
mirosu (16041) 2014-05-31 6:15
Excellent view up to nice small old church. O am sure it is hiding great history. The church is in very nice afternoon (?) light, and the green trees in foreground creating nice color contrast.
Very well doe.
p.s. I'm a little bit experiencing with HDR, just missing more professional tools.

Your WS picture with the four people is very interesting, but I can never something do my wife is not for meetings with other people, a pity for me.
Your picture is very nice taken
We get truly a very nice composition, with original colours.
A nice architecture picture, certainly a lovely place for to make a good stroll.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

We do not have a YMCA building like this in the U.S. The subdued golden lighting enhances the ancient architecture of arches, curves, dome and impressive tower.
Thanks for sharing,

Nice view of YMCA building. Lovely colors, textures, shapes and tones! Well managed shot.
View of the towers YMCA of the WS is also excellent.

Very pleasant look on the YMCA in the warm afternoon sun. Partly hidden by the lovely trees the building speaks of a long history.
Looks as you and Murat had a great time meeting up. I would like to meet some of the TE members one day ..
have a great weekend

Hello Ike, Interesting building of YMCA, nice picture in the afternoon light. It sems to me I saw it when I explored Jerusalem on my own many years ago. (but with no camera :( ) But real treat to me is the Workshop photo. Thank you for it very much! As you know, I am crazy about meetings so it is a great pleasure to see finally you and your wife together with Murats.
Warm regrads MAlgo

Ike, what a magnificent building, superb golden light, good inclusion of the sign, olive trees on the picture I guess, regards
siolaw (38292) 2014-06-01 0:55
good framing and POV of this monument, with a decent use of the available light. Sharpness is fine as well.
krzychu30 (15512) 2014-06-01 3:08
sounds like you had a very nice meeting in Jerusalem.
That´s the best about TE.
Concerning the image-I like the way you decided to present it to us-a little bit higher POV and the way the tower and dome contrast against the blue sky are magnificent!
Have a nice sunday
delpeoples (57278) 2014-06-01 4:49
How wonderful that you were able to meet Murat. Is this your first TE member you have met? The Workshop photo is lovely and I'm glad to put faces to names.
The YMCA is also a very interesting building, looking like an old temple of some kind. Excellent POV and you did well with the difficult light conditions.
Excellent work and a fun contribution to TE.

Lep pogled na staru arehitekturu ...
Dobar trenutak snimka i kontrast, lepo pokazana arhitektura.
Dobar rad, lepe boje.
Prijatno vece i mirna noc, sve najbolje.
A nice view of the old arehitekturu ...
Good time recording and contrast nicely demonstrated architecture.
Good work, beautiful colors.

Ike, this is a true monument and I looked up its origins and its significance..this is the most beautiful YMCA that I have ever seen!!
all the best
jcpix (13914) 2014-06-01 15:23
As much as I do enjoy this picture as the main post, my favorite of the three, however, would be the picture of your little get-together. :) Always great to see faces with names, making the communication between us all that more personal. Glad you were able to spend time and enjoy the meeting.
I love the warm sunlight gracing the exterior of the YMCA, giving the beautiful domes a golden glow. Nice angle to detail the architecture and dominant shapes. Crisp and clear, a fine result indeed. have a great week ahead. All the best.
Royaldevon (37959) 2014-06-02 1:51
The lighting effect is fine, to me. I love how the buildings have been given a warm glow, almost gilded!
Your pov works very well, the buildings climbing higher, like a series of steps, which makes a very satisfying approach to viewers.
Have a great day,
mkamionka (35918) 2014-06-02 2:55
it is always nice to hear about the TE meetings happening throughout the world. I had a pleasure to attend one last year in UK. Also met few people from TE already. Very pleasant experiences, even though we may be so different, TE makes us so close in many aspects.
The meeting seems to be very fruitful, this temple was certainly never presented on TE before. Interesting architecture, it seems as if it was a mosque before, or another type of temple. Green vegetation added a nice framing.
Very well done!
clic (16885) 2014-06-03 8:02
Why did I teased you with alcohol in he past; I noticed in the workshop you drink only sparkling water?!
Those verdant leafy trees and firs that surround the invaluable historic architecture compose a much attractive guard of honour to its majesty.
jemaflor (96087) 2014-06-03 23:03
Nice pov on the monument, well presented, good light and colors for the stones in particular.
Romano46 (18472) 2014-06-04 10:30
molto bella questa visione di Gerusalemme notevole sia per la semplicità della composizione quanto per la delicatezza dei colori.
Buona anche la gestione della nitidezza e del contrasto.
Ciao e buona serata
ourania (44342) 2014-06-04 11:50
I like very much the point of view and framing you chose for this presentation. There's a mild dynamism in your tight composition and the warm tones offered by the sunset light are very pleasant, especially as you have provided very good contrast to exalt them. The building is very interesting, you found a fine balance between details and mystery. Great to see Murat, you and your wives in the workshop picture, I'm sure you enjoyed your meeting! Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
fritzi007 (10411) 2014-06-06 4:10
very good presentation of the YMCA building, really very well done!
Wish you a nice weekend
Gigidusud (20825) 2014-06-06 15:16
Beautiful architecture lighted by a beautiful golden light, excellent framing. Great the other version on WS, and nice meeting foto too. Always nice to meet friends from TE.
Have a nice Week-end my friend.
mcmtanyel (21810) 2014-06-06 18:12
We spent some time the following morning here. After we got back from our excursion to the train station, we went on to the Y. We sat outside in the cafe area a bit but when we found out that they were not serving food until 12:00 noon, we walked over to the King David Hotel and had an early lunch there.
Nice POV and great clarity showing the textures of the Jerusalem stone.
PS. Nice workshop photo, thanks.
Didi (60588) 2014-06-24 8:16
Nice place for a TE meeting
Nice view on the dome but not so simple to balance shades with sky
That's why I try a braketing or a two pictures stitch
Or more simple I put a gray grad filter on my camera lens if I use a reflex camera
adores (45029) 2014-07-01 17:47
Seems a beautiful old building. This is really the colour and architecture I associate to Jerusalem. And you managed well the light conditions. I'm also very happy to see you all there, hope you had a great meeting:)!
jmdias (63444) 2014-07-01 17:54
very beautiful the shapes of this building and tower, it looks like a church, not like a hostel. I liked this angle and the softness of the light.
ChrisJ (112373) 2014-07-02 15:24
Yes I met Murat in Istanbul last March and he is a great guy. Wonderful warm cold colour contrasts between the blue sky and yellow honey coloured domes in the bg. The YMCA sign adds interest but I just can't imagine either you or Murat dancing around to the Village people song of the 70's! :-) Tfs!
nikkitta (17066) 2014-07-03 12:32
Just by chance I arrived at this picture of this interesting building with round cupolas
Like the hour of the day it was taken, the sun gives an orange color in contrast with the pale sky and frame with green vegetation
Great WS, nice to see all of you together
Well done, congrats
Tomorrow...play...let s see
Waylim (25502) 2014-07-11 16:52
That is a very nice and wonderful things to do, meeting up with friend from TE. I also know of Murat here and on PF.
this is a very lovely photo of the YMCA, such a good thing to have for those who cannot pay full price for hotel when traveling. Beautiful color and good light and nicely composed image.
swapankumarroy (2847) 2014-08-17 11:02
Very nice building of YNCA in Jerusalem and you are lucky to attend the meeting of TE. Your article is well informative and shoot the building very well. Good composition, well color and POV.

Good morning Ike
Beautiful light of late afternoon on the building, fit well between the leaves. i like your WS too my friend.
danos (96772) 2016-01-15 23:38
nice the view of the place with the YMCA building to dominating the scene and the falling warm afternoon light to enhance even more its beauty and its architectural style.
