Photographer’s Note

This is the dormition church in Jerusalem, also known as the Hagia Maria Sion Abbey. It is located on Mt. Zion just outside the walls of the Old City near the Zion Gate.

I took this photo from the top of the old city wall. It was a 1 second exposure hand held, but still got it.

Shalom Amir,

This is a first rate night photograph. You captured the night view of the old city perfectly, with simple but elegant composition, a flawless exposure. I remember walking around the old city walls, but always during the day, always in hot summer months. (I have a close friend and coauthor in theoretical physics at the Technion in Haifa).
