A late addition to my automn flowers collection.
This is a small bouquet of Sitvanit Hayore (Colchicum stevenii). It was taken this weekend in Har Haruakh, in Jerusalem Mountains.
Since the summer is very dry in Israel, Hebrew has a name for the first rain of the year - Yore (I wonder if other languages has a word for it too).
This flower starts to bloom about a week after the first rain of the year and therefore called after it - "a little automn flower of the first rain of the year" |
