Photographer's Note

This was one of the main "streets" of the Muslim quarter of the old city of Jerusalem that branch off from the Damascus gate. The door to the Hashimi hotel where I was staying is directly behind me.

It was a hard shot to take since so many of the streets there are partially covered like this one and not to mention the fact they are crowded and very busy.

The merchants like the one in the lower right corner stand outside their shops waiting to pounce on an unwary tourist. I am the owner of a couple of pieces of fine sliver jewelry that I bought just to get away from a couple. Talk about the hard sale.
