Old Jaffa Summit-garden, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

The highest point on Old Jaffa, a summit-garden with 360deg. view(see a pic. posted before), this pic. due west.
Jaffa has a 4000 years of history, and an archeology-excavations taken place within this garden.
The earliest remains found here, are from the reign of the Kingdom of ancient Egypt "Canaan".
1,000 years later - 8 BC, the Assyrians conquered the Kingdom of Jaffa, and later:
Hellenistic period ,Roman ,Crusades,Ottoman period,
Christian period until mid 19th century.
In 1824 with the return of Jews to Jaffa, and later the establishement of Tel-Aviv north of Jaffa in 1908, begun the modern era of the town as we know it nowadays. In 1918 The British took over the Mandate until 1948, with the independence of the State-of-Israel, Jaffa became part of the city of Tel-Aviv.

Hello Ike,

A beautiful garden with the view of the sea.Lovely palm trees and the blue poled lampposts make it a very charming place. That tall tower with the bell stands out against the blue sky. Looks like an enjoyable place for walks. The image is sharp bright and cheerful.

Hi Ike,

The palm trees are leading my eye toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the gardens and of the buildings. The morning light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

How interesting!
I would love to take part in an archaeological dig.
This is a well composed shot with good guides and a fine sense of depth produced by the f/g tree and the distant tower. Fine sharpness.
This is how I imagined Tel Aviv rather than new highrise buildings.

I have a little preference for the composition in the workshop. But both pictures give a very beautiful and speciallly bright view of that wonderful garden on the highest point of Old Jaffa. The green trees and plants certainly look very nice under that clear blue sky.
The wide open view over the Mediterranean from this high point is a splendid backdrop.

There are some many things to view in this photo, I found myself looking deeper and deeper into this beautifully presented photo, and finally had to stop and let you know how much I like it. When I'm done writing this note, I'm going back to looking at it.

There seems to be so much history here and you've captured it perfectly and with great care to all the details to light, color and clarity. Very sharp and clear photo with superb DOF and your POV is STUNNING..........I LIKE IT!! Great Job Ike!!

Amazing that something so ancient is still in being uncovered. Beautiful gardens indeed, I like the blue lamp posts scattered throughout and the distant horizon on the sea really gives some nice depth. Nicely put together Ike, this looks to be a very casual and scenic location...especially on a bright, sunny day. Well presented.
