[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The "Oscar" ceremony took place last night, so it's good timing for this post.

It's the "Eden" cinema (yes, it accurately translates as "Cinema Paradiso"), the oldest in Tel Aviv.

It was built in 1914, during the times of the Turkish Empire here.

On the upper right corner the word "Eden", in Hebrew.
These days only the facade and the long wall on the side (seen in the shot) remain.

The cinema was finally closed in 1974. It's now an empty place.

The current owners, a big bank, have not decided what to do with it.

This area, the Neve Zedek neighbourhood, has become very trendy and expensive, so the old cinema structure will probably become some real estate project.

In the background, on the left - one of the typical buildings of this area.

hi daniel,
it's interesting that you link your today's post with the oscar ceremony...smart timing...
interesting architecture in both cases (fg and bg buildings)...i presume that it must be an open air arena, this cinema, as i do not see the roof...

Hi daniel

A dramatic sky, with a marvellous colour contrast between the red & blue, & superb sharpness & framing. Good graphism of the dark shadows against the lighter wall. Well done!

hello Daniel,

wow, what a great light !!! the colours change so much with the light. very nice !
greetings, inn

Hello Daniel,
It's funny that this cinema actually has that name. Unfortunatly, it may get the same end of life as the cinema in the movie. Thank you for quoting this beautiful movie.
As for the picture, interesting POV and colours
