Yesterday, beach of Tel Aviv. Supposedly we are thru a wave of unusual cold weather, but you can see what kind of "winter" day it was.

It was late in the afternoon and the low sun gave a nice cast to the scene, but I've dropped it in PP because a pure white seemed to me more appropriate to the "tennis" subject.

They are actually playing beach paddleball ("matkot"), a very popular game here, non-competitive (the roots of this - related to the socialist philosophy of the country's pioneers).

It just involves TWO players playing together for a certain time.

The standard ball used is the same ball as is used in squash.

The idea is to engage in "quality" rallies. Important aspects are - the "consistency" and length of the rallies, the power and variety of the shots, and the general flair and aesthetic quality of play.

Hi Daniel

Good use of the principle of 3, by the including the shadow at right. Excellent sharpness & lighting contrasts. Congratulations!

this is very well done. The light is perfect, it is dynamic and this third shadow is so extremely interesting. Bautiful.

Hi Daniel,
Ma Nishma? An eyecatching image with the shadow player to the right. The contrast is so good that he is almost 3D and the ball in his direction completes the illusion.Strong vibrant colours....even in the winter the game must go on.
Regards, David
