Pounding waves, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

Morning on the old Tel-Aviv port when waves were pounding on the pier.
A relatively new promenade built on the old platform, nowaday many recreation activities taking place on: Fishing, cycling and as I usually do - taking a nice stroll along. A WS attached. (A distinguished place from the Jaffa old-port which located south of Tel-aviv).

Is there really any fish can be caught in such a raging, turbulent water? I can see if there are anglers. Nice way to relax.
These lanterns create an interesting pattern in the sky.

Salut Ike,
On a pas besoin de pêcher avec de pareilles vagues, le poisson doit arriver tout seul sur le quai. Jolie prise de vue captée juste au bon moment et la scène est bien animée. Bonne qualité d'image et excellent rendu des couleurs.

A very well lit shot of this port taken on this bright sunny morning . I like the way the waves are breaking to form beautiful white foams. Nice play of light and shade. Nice activities by the people like fishing, walking and cycling. What a beautiful place to spend this nice morning.

Looks like a very rough sea to go fishing in and those fishing poles are so big. Good pov and dof with sharp details. Great lighting and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Ike,

The capture of the power of the waves is an asset to the composition. The length of the pier is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the action of the people on the pier. The morning light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Good Morning Ike,

Wonderful movement from the crashing waves. Did you get spray on your camera?
I love how the edge of the promenade leads into the shot and divides the anger of the sea from the totally contrasting leisure activities.

Hi Ike,
this scene of the fishermen in the pier makes me remember a similar image in the Galata Bridge of Istanbul.
I like the dynamism of the waves breaking on the pier, and the vitality of the people who goes fishing or walks along this place.
The image has a great light and a few beautiful colors.

As I saw on the workshop, fishermen don't have to angle to catch fish on pier: all they have to do is catching preys that splashing waves throw in thier hands!!
Nice perspective on pier created by the streetlights forest and the outside view of structure.
Some take seriously this activity to the point I read last year on a sweater: "Shut up and fish", while others socialize.

who'd have thought that tall lamps could make a photo look so good!
the tall curves, the long fishing rods, it makes a cool looking scene, and the viewers eyes can't help but move up that way.

brave the fishermen as try from this bridge to fish with the splashed waters to wet them.I like the presentation from all these people that enjoy to stroll on it, inhaled the fresh sea air.

Very powerful shot of waves and fisherman. Looks like a hard way to fish, but fun none the less. Excellent POV and DOF showing this pier and the daily life that occurs there. Wonderful colors and great light management with good clarity. Great Job Ike!!

Hi dear Ike

The waves here look very rough, but I like how you have frozen this moment in time to demonstrate the sea's power. I alos like the succession of vertical poles, both lamp poles and fishing poles. Good sharpness and colour rendering. Do you ever fish yourself? It is an exercise in patience, but is very calming for the stress - almost as good as photography :)

Hello Ike,
a wonderful composition which skillifully divides the frame between a peaceful daily scene on the pier and the force of the spectacular waves against the pier's wall. There's a very pleasing perspective which also opens the view on the pier where people offer movement and colours while lamp posts and fishing rods have a playful graphic impact. Lighting is excellent, colours and atmosphere are delightful. Well done and thank you!

Thats a very nice shot of the waves pounding against the pier.The sky is blue and the morning walkers are around. Sharpness and clarity are perfect. Excellent composition with some lovely colours coupled with nice light management and presentation.TFS.
