As today is the international Holocaust memorial day, presented here a monument in the town of Ramat-Gan to commemorate this era.
6 broken chimneies symbolize the 6 million Jews parished.
Memorial days and memorial monuments are presented - to remind us all, that this should never ever happened again.
A slightly diff. version on the WS.

I see you for the second time today, again with a very nice picture.
But with a very sadly remembrance, I've a lot original movies about the concentration camps, a pity that people can do these cruelty
We get a lovely panoramic view about these area
This care for depth and perspective.
Your colors are attractive and excellent composition.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,
PaulVDV (25645) 2013-01-27 3:54
The picture in the WS shows the person from a better angle. The advantage of the main picture is that you could exclude the highrise on the distance and give a nicer presentation of the park landscape.
Let's work to a future where no more acts of genocide occure.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ike, Excellent photo of this interesting monument in memory of the victims of the savagery of the Holocaust, I do not wish I could say that is not repeated, for reality insists on showing us every day, that man has not learned the lesson , of human history on the planet. Very good and interesting work my friend, congratulations. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and interesting work.
Good evening and happy start to the week.
A fraternal hug from southern Spain.

100% correct Ike...it should never, ever happen again. A very thoughtful photo and kind gesture in remembrance. It's sad to think that we, as human beings, would ever desire such atrocities against another out of so much hatred.
On a brighter note, this is a well composed photo. The alignment of palm trees gives balance and harmony to the picture. The memorial speaks for itself to set the atmosphere. Great lighting and overall sharpness make for a crisp image. Well done!

The palm trees are framing well the monument. The distance netween the monument and the palm trees is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the monument. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

raszid62 (18515) 2013-01-28 2:16
A very poignant picture of the monument to Holocaust victims. The more it appeals to the imagination, that the monument located in the beautiful, joyful garden. What a contrast. Beautiful colors and excellent sharpness.
Fis2 (92245) 2013-01-28 6:32
Good POV and composition.
I like colours and sharpness.
Have a nice afternoon

A fitting memorial and a fitting photograph for the day. I watched some heart wrenching programmes on T.V. last night and lamented that one human being could have such disregard for another!
A shot that is sharply captured; uses a good dof and is nicely composed, the three trees perfectly positioned, with the focal figure well placed between two of them.
My warm regards,
lousat (85070) 2013-01-28 14:40
Hi Ike,nothing better to celebrate the memorial day,no needs comments about this incredible tragedy,i like your choice for the pic of this day.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
Sonata11 (33717) 2013-01-28 18:26
this is excellent capture of this beautiful memorial garden you find. Thousands of many different nationality people died in Holocaust. My members of my family died too. I hope it never, ever happened again. I wish, to be peace all over the World.
All the best,
macjake (63250) 2013-01-28 21:37
3 is better than 2, 3 is better than 4.
Odd numbered subjects will always look more pleasing in a scene than even numbered subjects.
its easy to balance out the 3 large palm trees, it looks so good to the eye.
As for the subject material, of course its a serious one, but one that we must not forget.
I like the photo for its composition and brightly lit colors,
jlbrthnn (76037) 2013-01-29 1:43
This is a picture beautiful and useful. It is essential not to forget. Skilful composition, a sharp picture and deep. Bravo.
Have a nice day

nice the view of the place that was build and symbolize the six million Jews that dead and disappeared during the World War II.I like the excellent presentation as the clarity of the image.
These days i read a Best seller book in Israel, written from Batya Gur,Literaty Murder(a critical.
Case).I hope to know it.

mkamionka (33703) 2013-01-29 13:42
charming place -if I may say so about the memorial for the Holocaust. Excellent presentation in a pleasant light with attractive natural colors. The palm trees add a very nice touch here.
Very well done,
jmdias (60030) 2013-01-29 15:36
I liked the monument despite it has a simple conception. nice your image catching the shapes of the palm trees in a marvelous way.excellent job.
some days ago I was reading about Tito's arch in rome with its carvings talking about the sack of jerusalen by the romans and how the jews never passed under the arch until 1948 when the event was finished. then many people tryied to destroy your people but never got this, the bless of God goes on.
chrisvek (7001) 2013-01-30 8:02
Excellent composition and so clever look.Amazing colors and splendid details on the background!Nice job.\
josepmarin (58087) 2013-01-30 9:35
an excellent light and a natural colors in this image.
I like the structure of the composition, as well the good graphical effect of this beautiful Memorial, and the great contrast between the sculpture, the palm trees and the deep blue sky.
Both WS allows us to see alll the details of it.
A beautiful work.
UlfE (14641) 2013-01-30 10:25
A superb shot in all respects. The composition, lighting, sharpness, depth colour are perfect. The statue is perfectly positioned and it is great that all three palmtrees are within the frame. TFS and have a nice evening!
emilbo (22616) 2013-01-30 12:12
Excellente présentation pour souligner ce triste évènement. L'endroit est bien choisi pour élever ce monument et la végétation est merveilleuse. Bel éclairage et bon rendu des détails et des couleurs.
Toutes mes amitiés et bonne soirée,
nikkitta (17066) 2013-01-31 10:32
Great way to made people not to forget what should never happens again, as you said
After having a look at the ws , I prefer this one, colors saturated and good POV
Well compose capture with the palm trees at the back
Well done, TFS
clic (16308) 2013-02-01 8:00
Sad story indeed represented by the six fallen chimneys.
I notice the statue playing horn for the palm trees to make them stand higher, as a flute player would do facing a rattlesnake!
You show the best of Memorial Garden in HD resolution for this homage to innocent victims.
Silvio1953 (133898) 2013-02-02 3:31
Ciao Ike, nice composition with lovely statue and beautiful palms, excellent clarity, splendid light and wonderful pastel colors, very well done, my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio
krzychu30 (15510) 2013-02-02 4:12
meaningful, powerful in its message and leading to reflection over the tragic and sad past. You wrote it should never ever happened again.I know we can not turn back time, but it should never happened-not in the past, not in the future. So it´s an excellent scene to make us aware of cruelty of the World War II and what your nation had to go through.
elenimavrandoni (0) 2013-02-02 11:54
Hello Ike, I like to see pictures from Israel because I have never been there and through your eyes I can take an imaginary trip to your beautiful country!
Nice little square and memorial garden, very sharp details and bright colors!
Have a great weekend,
delpeoples (56084) 2013-02-03 1:22
I read somewhere (I think it was something Rosemary gave me a link to) that using 3 elements (as you have done here with the palm trees) is the most effective way of grabbing the attention and balancing the image. So congratulations firstly on the way you composed this photo. The colours are very crisp and I love the sharpness and depth here. And of course, what the memorial represents has meaning of course to you and your people, but also to the rest of us around the world. Thank you for sharing.
Warmest wishes and have a good Sunday
eldancer1 (33971) 2013-02-07 7:53
Beautiful capture of this memorial for the worst event in the history of mankind. And I'm with you I also hope nothing like that happens again. Maybe someday people will wake up to the realization that there's nothing good to come out of war. TFS.
(There's a Red Flag Exercise at Nellis Air Force Base from Feb. 25 to March 15 with air force units from across the country as well as foreign countries. They are not on the schedule but a friend told me that Israeli Air Force is participating, I'm very excited about seeing Israeli warplanes if it's true.)
ourania (39026) 2013-02-10 7:31
this is a beautiful and very interesting picture. the bright colours contrast the very sad theme and the monument strikes with its simplicity and directness. It can speak effectively to any spectator. The absolute sharpness and clarity of your image, the light and the colours are very attractive. I like very much the dynamic way the three palm tress fill the background and how you've placed the statue between two of them. Congratulations and thank you! Remembering is vital in our days.
All the best, have a lovely week,
Miguel82 (27028) 2013-02-13 12:38

Sharp photo, great colors, good light
mirosu (15878) 2013-02-14 2:55
I really enjoy watching your photographs. You have very good eyes for excellent photo subject selection and composition. This one is a very good example with excellent straight view, light and all details around. What I like in the composition? The nice composition with the staue in the frond well backed by palm trees, green foliage and nice blue sky in background. The light is very good and tighter crop excellent.
serp2000 (42562) 2013-02-18 5:59
Good illustration for interesting and informative note. But I think the smiles are not right signs for these events of the past. Good colors, perfect sharpness.
lakshmip1949 (19081) 2013-03-06 4:59
A nice monument honoring the holocaust victims. what a lovely surrounding with palm trees. The blue sky with small scattered white clouds make this very picturesque. The colors are very natural.
grunf80 (150) 2013-05-03 9:48
Nicely done. Very good position. I also like the tree palms behinds the statue, they give fullness to the photo.
mcmtanyel (18175) 2013-08-29 8:29
This is too small a monument for such a tragic event. Good POV, I like the three palm trees in the b/g with the statue (is it Gabriel?) right in between the two.
Periko (4034) 2015-08-01 17:38
I like the date palms against the nice blue sky.
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was all about the history of the walls of Jericho.
Nice photo and interesting note.
Matyas (12194) 2015-10-06 5:30
Shalom Ike! Amazing monument. Superb place and scenery, excellent background. Good shot. Good capture. Very good focus effect. Well done!
