Ancient remains of Palmachim port, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

Caves & burial area, found and situated in the northern part of Palmachim Beach, carved into the cliff. This was the old "Yavne-Yam", which served as a small port from the Bronze Age (mid-second millennium BC) till the Middle Ages.
Location of the beach, some 15km by-air-distance south of Tel-Aviv: 31.96, 34.716 .
Tel-Aviv skyscrapers can be seen through the mist, on far left on the image, along with town's of Bat-Yam, a few km closer.

Hello Ike,

This is very long time ago the Bronze Age, but it's always pleasant is to know about the long time ago.
Excellent composition with the rocks to the rightside, and the sky scraper over the sea to the horizon.

Good morning Ike,
Palmachin beach looks as i see with a rocky one with the caves and the burials to are covered the area during the ancient era.A lot of the ancients constructions must be sink in the sea,as in many areas in Hellas.
The view of the Tel-Aviv skyscrapers can been seen on the backdrop through the misty atmosphere.

Hi Ike,

The distance between the beach and the city is giving drpth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the ebach and of the cliff. The morning light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

hello Ike,

I like the way you have divided the image into 3 parts ashowing the beach, water and sky. Nice misty view of the skyscrapers in the background. Like the rocky hill on the right to get a better view. The colors are very natural with sharpness and depth.

A fabulous composition, this corner of the coast with this area of rocks is beautiful, the great city that is shaping up slightly in the mist gives great DOF to the composition.

Hello Ike,

A place I have never heard about previously but one that I will investigate. As always, you have a good sense of composition with 3 horizontal layers of markedly different textures, which guide into the b/g like steps. There are sharp texured details in the f/g and an inferred movement from the breaking waves.

your photo reminds me my visit to Ceasarea. Similar ancient ruins of the Roman ruins. And I have seen similar view in Turkey now. An interesting and useful note. TFS!
